For the first time in the franchise history, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will feature an open world that the player can explore. Hideo Kojima, the much revered creator, will no longer be directing the franchise after this instalment, and he has given the series an outstanding send-off. Steal resources to improve your base, ride around on a horse, or any number of vehicles; this game offers some serious free play. There are plenty of primary and secondary missions to explore and complete. For the most part, the missions are what you would typically find in a Metal Gear Solid game. However, you will find yourself conducting more rescue missions in particular than has been seen in previous titles.
You will be allowed to come up with your own plan on how you want to accomplish the missions, which as you would expect become increasingly complex. With this much freedom to do what you want, you can easily find yourself overwhelmed by the nearly endless possibilities this game presents. Whatever your plan is, the game will provide you with the necessary weapons, gadgets and allies to make your plan a success. This is the ultimate game in the franchise and the ultimate way to close it out, if it does turn out to be the last. Whether you are a long term fan of the series, or even if you like action, stealth and huge open worlds to explore, download this game, like yesterday, it won’t disappoint.
